MARGO IS HAPPY TO CONNECT YOU WITH DIFFERENT ORGANIZATIONS AND HELP SET UP AN OPPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER!   I AM BILINGUAL, AND CAN ALSO HELP IN TRANSLATING

A few suggestions:

help out in the elementary school, which is a half a block away

help out in re-designing the playground, park which is one block away

help out in one of the struggling small businesses on the Malecon (Boardwalk)

teach dance, music, art, track, soccer, softball, kickball, kites, or just about any activity to some local youth

help pick up some trash from a local beach

work at our local organic farm

clean cages at our local humane society, walk a dog or two, sit and pet a dog or two, help pass out food and water to dogs

serve free food (usually a stew, or a hearty soup) to the local community (we can make the stew!)

Go to our local radio station and help with local programming, do a quick interview, learn about the things that lack, and brainstorm ideas to make our radio station better and/or more popular with the listeners

Help distribute needed supplies to the Esperanza neighborhood- solar phone chargers, crank style radios, battery operated fans, etc

Walk door to door with a Notebook, to talk to people who answer the door and ask them if they can tell you things that they need, and write them down.

If you are slightly handy, or more, help local people who are repairing, rebuilding their home or business.

put up information or announcements at each local community grocery store  (requires transportation- could be a scooter)

the Sky's the limit!  Whatever skills you may have, we can help you be able to share them! We'll find translators, if needed
